The Top Ten Secrets Highly Successful People Know That
You May Not
Each newsletter will reveal another secret
Secret #1: Be the Source,
Not the Seeker.
People seek many things. Some
people seek love, money, respect, a higher level position,
recognition or a meaningful relationship. Who
you are being either repels opportunities or creates
them. Seekers chase what they desire. Being
the seeker sends out an indirect message that
you are not enough; not enough knowledge, not enough
experience, or not enough talent. When you believe that
you do not have something, insincere actions may follow.
Some of the actions you
might take include saying and doing things that you do
not mean in order to attain a higher position, spending
money you do not have to make an impression on a potential
partner, or not doing your best on a project because
your REAL intention is to gain recognition, rather than
to do a fabulous job. Do you really think these thoughts
and actions will get you the thing you desire in a sustainable
way? Others can feel your motivations.
So what will get you those things
you desire? What is the difference between being the
source and being the seeker? While the seeker is in
a state of seeking or chasing what they want, the source
person is more like a lighthouse, attracting the opportunities
to them. In other words, the seeker seeks; the source
is sought after! Although all people have
desires, source people KNOW they have all of the inner
resources to achieve what they want. The
source person’s
self image is one that portrays confidence in their
talent, experience, skills and ability to learn and
grow. They “come from” a different
place, a different state of being. These are the people
others see as leaders. Opportunities come to them.
They do not chase opportunities, they attract them.
What can be done to create a reSOURCEful
corporate culture? Leaders must develop, empower, listen
to, recognize and value the inner resources of their
employees. What
happens when an organization is filled with seekers?
The organization itself becomes a seeker, constantly
looking for that new product, or service that will
save it, or bring it to the next level instead of realizing
the secret to its success is in their “inner” resources!

Question: Who do you have to become in order
to have the things you seek? How can you ATTRACT those things you
seek, rather than chase them?
Challenge Yourself : This month, pay attention
to your motivations. Are they sincere? |

Ask the
coach:
Lynn, I am so busy. I travel, have a
family, and a full time job. I am not in the shape I want to
be in and my energy is low. I’d like to begin working out
again but don’t have the time. Can you help me? Thanks.
Sincerely, F.D.
Many people come to coaching wanting to feel
healthier and begin an exercise routine. Making the time is only
a small part of the solution. Although there are several parts
to this solution, the most effective is to raise your energy level.
Time is a fixed commodity. Energy is limitless. This requires evaluating
what in your life is energy giving and what is energy draining.
As you incorporate more energy giving things and let go of energy
suckers (including people), time will free up, energy levels will
rise, and better, more conscious decisions will be made.
